What is You’ve Been Booed?
“You’ve Been Boo’ed” is a fun Halloween game that adds to the excitement of Halloween. The idea is pretty simple: you surprise a friend or neighbor with a Halloween treat and a special note to let them know they’ve been “booed.” The best part? They then continue the fun by boo’ing others in their neighborhood or circle of friends. It’s a fantastic way to spread joy and create a sense of community during the spookiest time of the year!
How to Play You’ve Been Booed
1. Gather Your Halloween Surprise:
- Halloween Treats: Choose some festive goodies to surprise your neighbors with. Think candy, small Halloween themed favors, Halloween decoration or Halloween themed baked goods you make yourself!
- “You’ve Been Boo’ed” Printable: That’s where I come in! I’ve designed a set of free printables that include everything you need to get started. More on that in a moment.
2. Print and Prepare:
- Download our free printable, which includes a “You’ve Been Booed” sign, a “You’ve Been Booed” door hangar, printable tags or stickers, a set of instructions or rules to pass on, and a fun poem to include with your treats. You can find the download link below.
- Print the signs, tags and door hangars on to heavy cardstock and trim to size. Print out the instructions/rules onto regular paper to include with your goodies.
3. Boo Your Neighbors:
- Choose a neighbor or friend who you think would enjoy being booed and keep the fun going.
- Secretly leave a Halloween treat, the printable sign & door knob hangar on their doorstep. Make sure to do this stealthily—part of the fun is the surprise!
4. Continue the Halloween Cheer:
- The person who receives the Halloween treat and printable will find instructions on how to continue the game. They’ll need to boo a friend or neighbor, leaving Halloween treats and the printable signs behind.
- Watch as the Halloween fun spreads through your neighborhood or group of friends!
