Hey, hey there printable pals! Welcome back! So, last week I shared my post on How You Can Make Your Own DIY Temporary Tattoos (including a free printable sheet to use). This gruesome printable also did double duty as stickers for decorating your Planner.
So let’s talk about our freebie this week. What I’m giving away is huge kit (5 sheets) of stickers that will take your average, dull, boring and even blah planner into the beginnings of a creepy Halloween scene!
They also match perfectly with another FREE printable I made for the month of October! It’s not for a planner but I still think you’ll like them! They are FREE Printable Sugar Skull Coloring pages!
What are the origins of Dia de los Muertos?
So what is Dia de los Muertos anyway? It’s actually a celebration and honoring of those who have passed before us. It’s a holiday celebrated predominantly in Mexico and occurs on November 1st and 2nd (not October 31st!). November 1st is known as Angelitos day where young children who have passed are celebrated. November 2nd is known as Day of the Dead where adults are remembered.
The celebration itself involves preparing food, flowers, toys and yes….decorated sugar skulls to bring to the graves of those who have passed on. Family of the deceased will spend weeks preparing for the multi-day event. This often includes cooking the treasured meals and treats of the deceased to be left at the grave site and adorning graves with decorations and mementos of the deceased.
It’s very common to purchase or make sugar skulls at home. They are heavily decorated with icing and flowers to be left at the grave site of the deceased. With the melding of U.S. and Mexican cultures children and adults alike are dressing up in costume and sugar skull face paint to celebrate the holiday in tandem with Halloween (and trick or treating).
Our day of the dead sticker kit aims to capture some of the Dia themes for a first week of November layout! Something a little different and maybe a way to honor your relatives in some way.
First up on the free sticker page you’ll see colorful, numbered pennant boxes. These are designed to cover your plain ole boring numbered days on the monthly, weekly or daily. I’ve also included a Halloween themed sticker to cover the month of October. Next there are several options for how you can re-label the days of the week. You can cover the monthly, weekly or daily with these stickers as well.
Mix, match or keep everything the same. You have a ton of options! First let’s check out how I used these free Halloween stickers in the horizontal weekly layout in my mini!
Note! Variation in color occurs from one printer to another and I used lots of photography lights to brighten up my photos. Your stickers may vary slightly from mine!

So I have a *ahem*….a few planners. I purposely chose planners that were mostly neutral or without a ton of decoration so that I could go crazy with a lot of colorful stickers. That’s how I like to roll…sometimes, if you have too many colors you just get color clash. In the next few photos I’m using the free Halloween stickers on my classic sized monthly.
You’ll find a varying amount of space in the header area of any Happy Planner….or any planner for that matter. On my classic I didn’t use the day labels because there wasn’t enough room for the month and the day stickers. I had to choose one so I went with displaying the month.

If you like a nice clean look but you want to incorporate a little bit of Halloween fun we can show you a way to incorporate these free printable Halloween stickers in a a monthly layout. I’ve used these in my classic Happy Planner below but really…you can use them in any planner.
.
What do I print stickers on?
I like to print out all my stickers on this well tested, high quality glossy white sticker paper from our shop. Glossy sticker paper prints true to color…unlike matte sticker paper that absorbs a ton of ink and leaves your sticker printouts looking faded and pixelated.
You can also print these on this clear glossy sticker paper from our shop (which has gloss and also prints true to color). Clear stickers are easy to place anywhere on your planner without interfering with the functional layout or lines on a planner page. If you want to try both types we have a 50/50 combo pack that is half white and half clear sticker paper.
How do I cut out printable stickers?
You can always cut out stickers with plain old scissors or a straight line paper cutter and lots of people do that. If you are short on time or have a Cricut or Silhouette cutting machine you may opt to use that. You can easily upload our transparent PNG files to a Cricut or Silhouette cutting machine for a quick print and cut. If you need detailed instructions for how to cut stickers on a Cricut then check out my FREE Essential Guide to Making High Quality Homemade Stickers.
The download link below will take you to our November | December themed printables shop section (take a look around while you’re there!)…add this cute printable kit to your shopping bag and use the coupon code DAYOFTHEDEAD at checkout to download them for FREE!
