Hey, hey there printable pals! Welcome back! So, last week I shared my post on How You Can Make Your Own DIY Temporary Tattoos (including a free printable sheet to use). This gruesome printable also did double duty as stickers for decorating your Planner. I want to thank everybody who came to our site and downloaded. I had a great response from all of my readers! I’m delighted that I could have inspired and encouraged you to use some SERIOUSLY different themes in your planners. Thank you again for all your comments and rave reviews!
Now that it is late September, I’ve got Halloween on my mind. Halloween and Christmas are my absolute favorite holidays (I think EVERYONE says that though). Every Halloween we host a huge Halloween party for our friends, neighbors and my Husband’s co-workers. With all the indoor/outdoor decorations and menu prep it takes nearly a month of frantic preparation. Halloween is a HUGE deal in this house!
So let’s talk about our freebie this week. What I’m giving away is a sheet of FREE printable Halloween stickers that will take your average, dull, boring and even blah planner into the beginnings of a creepy Halloween scene! These stickers are designed to coordinate perfectly with my 4 Page Sugar Skull Dia De Los Muertos Halloween Kit which you can find in my shop.
They also match perfectly with another printable I’m releasing this week! It’s not for a planner but I still think you’ll like them! They are FREE Printable Sugar Skull Dia De Los Muertos Coloring pages!
First up on the free sticker page you’ll see colorful, numbered pennant boxes. These are designed to cover your plain ole boring numbered days on the monthly, weekly or daily. I’ve also included a Halloween themed sticker to cover the month of October. Next there are several options for how you can re-label the days of the week. You can cover the monthly, weekly or daily with these stickers as well.
Mix, match or keep everything the same. You have a ton of options! First let’s check out how I used these free Halloween stickers in the horizontal weekly layout in my mini!
Note! Variation in color occurs from one printer to another and I used lots of photography lights to brighten up my photos. Your stickers may vary slightly from mine!
|FREE Printable Halloween Stickers Applied to the Mini|
So I have a *ahem*….a few planners. I purposely chose planners that were mostly neutral or without a ton of decoration so that I could go crazy with a lot of colorful stickers. That’s how I like to roll…sometimes, if you have too many colors you just get color clash. In the next few photos I’m using the free Halloween stickers on my classic sized monthly.
You’ll find a varying amount of space in the header area of any Happy Planner….or any planner for that matter. On my classic I didn’t use the day labels because there wasn’t enough room for the month and the day stickers. I had to choose one so I went with displaying the month.

Okay, now I’m going to show you how to print these stickers out at home. You will need to purchase printable sticker paper if you don’t already have some on hand.
Silhouette Clear Printable Sticker Paper
Avery White Printable Sticker Paper
Royal Elements Glossy Printable Sticker Paper
Highly Recommended- Fiskars Straight Line Paper Cutter
Fiskars Fingertip Craft Knife or Scissors
Optional- 1.5 x2.4 “Classic” Box Punch
Being the free printable junkie that I am I have tested several sticker papers that I can wholly recommend for these stickers. Let me tell you, I’ve tested a lot of cheap, crappy sticker paper in my time and I’ve found only three that deserve my trust.
There are several cheapy brands out there but the problems with them are numerous. I’ve experienced massive paper jams, papers labeled as “clear” but they are actually not, smudged ink that never seems to dry and sticker paper that doesn’t even stick!!! What tha’ heck! Hey sticker paper….you had one job to do (be a sticker) and you couldn’t even do that!!?!?
Let me save you the hassle and point you to three different types of great paper. One is the Silhouette Clear Printable Sticker Paper which actully is CLEAR. Not kinda clear….but actually clear. This paper is great for printing out stickers for layering purposes. As an example, maybe you want to put a hat and a scarf on an existing dog sticker…this would be a good application of clear sticker paper.
Another tested and trusted paper is the Avery White Matte Printable Sticker Paper if you want a MATTE sticker. If you want a glossy, the Royal Elements Glossy Printable Sticker Paper is the way to go and it’s my personal favorite. If you’re a part of the Happy Planner movement you are probably accustomed to using both clear and white stickers in the sticker books. I think either are great and it’s the application that will probably decide which you want to use.

It’s important to note that these PDF stickers need to be printed out on an inkjet printer! DO NOT USE A LASER JET PRINTER! Laser jet printers use high heat and may melt the clear printable sticker paper (which are made mostly of plastic). Although the white printable sticker paper is not made of as much plastic it may also melt! Most at home printers are ink jet so this probably won’t be a problem…but double check to make sure!
You’ll also need to adjust the paper settings on you printer before printing. After pressing the print button go to the setting area. Look at the paper options and choose something along the lines of “matte photo paper” or “other photo paper”. There isn’t a sticker or label printing setting on my computer but if that’s available then choose that (I don’t have that on my software).
You’ll need to pick a thicker paper setting so that your printer accounts for this thick paper. It will also be sent a message that it’s printing something high quality and will print the stickers as such.
Obviously you can use plain old scissors to cut out any of these stickers. BUT if you’re OCD like me and want nice, straight lines I highly recommend that you use a straight line paper cutter. They are pretty inexpensive and they really make the difference when cutting the washi tape strips and rectangle shaped day stickers. This really inexpensive Fiskars model is highly rated on Amazon.
I have an older than dinosaurs (and ways about as much as a dinosaur) office sized paper cutter that I use. I found it, unluckily some would say, at Goodwill in the office supply section.
I’ve just recently purchased a Fiskars Fingertip Craft Knife which is way easier to manipulate than traditional x-acto knives. It’s easier to achieve rounded, artistic cutting lines for some of the non-square or non-symmetrical stickers. Here is what they look like in use:
One other option is to use the “classic” style box punch for the rectangular stickers. You can also use the box punch for pictures or cutting out scrapbook paper…so if you decide to invest in one there are some pretty cool applications for them beyond cutting out printable stickers.
First, let me say that I use a ton of ink for my business and for crafting (I’m looking at you Cricut print and cut projects). I used to be very cautious of what I print because of the CRAZY expensive cost of printer ink.
That was until I found a company on Amazon that will provide triple the ink for less than half the cost of original manufacturer’s ink. That’s like getting a ton of FREE INK! The company is called EZ Ink on Amazon and if you want to see if they carry your brand click here to search for your printer cartridges at the top of the page.
I was skeptical at first (even after reading TONS of these 4 & 5 star reviews (which you can read for yourself here) but I’ve been using the ink for a year now and there is no difference in print quality or color.
I’m not a representative of this company by any means…I’m just trying to help a fellow crafting/printable addict save a little money. I only talk about products that I use and believe in. If they can save some serious bucks it’s even better. So check them out HERE and see if they can save you some money!
