If you download them all you can put together a matchy-matchy gallery wall. Or you can just add your favorite wall art piece to your existing gallery wall for a pop of Halloween decor.
First I want to tell you guys about these free vintage Halloween printables. This isn’t something I created (if only I were this talented…). This art was created by a Dutch artist named Julie De Graag in the late 19th century and early 20th century. Because this artwork is so old (over 100 years) it becomes a part of the public domain, is royalty free and is no longer copyrighted. Which means you & I can print it out and use it FREE of charge!
I’m not sure that Julie meant for her artwork to be interpreted as having a Halloween theme but these few pieces I’ve picked out definitely scream Halloween to me. If you’re creative you could find lots of uses for free artwork like this…from craft projects to vintage Halloween decorations in and around your home. As a craft-a-holic my mind is racing with ideas!
These vintage Halloween prints are sized a bit strangely (since they were never meant for American sized picture frames)….so I’ve modified them slightly to fit standard American size frames. Specifically 8 x 10 matted frames. I think they look really great in these large mat black frames from Target.
What I love about these printable Halloween decor pieces is that they can fit in with pretty much any decor style out there. Whether you are into vintage, farmhouse, boho, farmhemian, minimalist, mid century or modern….these will look on trend in any space! I mean, what a find if you love DIY Halloween wall art and decorations!
So let’s take a look at our vintage Halloween wall art! I’ve mocked them up for you so you can see what they would look like framed and hanging on your wall!
This Halloween wall art print is my favorite of the whole lot! There is a very vintage looking skull and it says “memento mori” which means “remember death” in latin. Very spooky! This black and white vintage Halloween printable is going in my farmhouse style kitchen!
This orange spider in a web looks so vintage Halloween! I can’t wait to hang this one up!
This pair of black and white spooky, staring owls will make for on trend decorating! Owls are a really hot decor trend right now!
I know all you cat lovers will enjoy this last wall art print…it’s an orange (Halloween) cat! I love how all of these prints go together! You might want to make a Halloween gallery wall with all of them like I did below:
You could also arrange your gallery in a vertical or horizontal row. I personally plan on putting 1 or 2 framed prints in the powder room that guests use. It’s an easy way to add a little Halloween decoration to a much neglected room of the house.
Important Printing Instructions! READ BEFORE PRINTING!
Warning! These DIY Halloween printables put down a lot of ink so using standard, low weight printer paper may cause a warped and wavy printouts! DO NOT USE STANDARD PRINTER PAPER!
We HIGHLY recommend that you print any kind of wall art on this tested and fully vetted 80 LB ACID FREE GLOSSY CARD STOCK. Glossy cardstock is better than any kind of matte cardstock (for wall art) because the ink sits on top of the paper and isn’t absorbed into the paper. This means that you will get bright, true to color printouts that actually look like the image on your computer screen. Matte papers absorb a ton of ink and therefore your printouts may look faded and even pixelated. Glossy card stock also resists the damage from high humidity environments. Printing on glossy card stock means your image won’t wrinkle in the frame in a few months.
After you download our free printable Halloween decorations and you’re ready to print be sure to adjust your print settings! Select “high quality” and choose the “glossy photo paper” setting. This will avoid smudging during the printing process and potentially pixelated, low quality printouts. Please do this even if you are printing in black and white. When printing on glossy card stock Allow 10 minutes for the ink to fully dry before mounting in frames.
