If you’re looking for FREE printable Happy Planner refill pages you’ve come to the place! Today we’re sharing Happy Planner refill pages that you can download instantly to make a DIY planner (or frankenplanner) at home with Happy Planner covers and discs you already have.
Did you check out the latest Happy Planner releases? I’m a huge Happy Planner fan but I was SO disappointed to see the lack of bright bold colors inside the planners. Everything was extremely neutral & just not a whole lot of color.
I love all the bold colorful Happy Planners out there (I think I’ve owned them ALL through the last 4-5 years). I love the rainbow discs and bold pops of colors. I was SO bummed to see nothing on this release with lots of color!
I was chatting with some other die hard Happy Planner fans during our planner meetup and I realized that I wasn’t the only one who wanted more color on our layouts.
Wouldn’t it be nice if we could just purchase refills and DIY planners at home? Since there wasn’t much available for purchase, we came to the realization that we might have to start designing our own printable Happy Planner refills going forward to get what we really want.
So this week I took a stab at creating a FREE printable classic size Happy Planner vertical layout for you guys. In the future, I hope to add to this post with additional layouts like a lined vertical layout, dashboard layout and horizontal layout.
So why a vertical layout? It’s the most popular Happy Planner layout out there and it’s great for checklist makers or people who block their time or work off an hourly schedule for meetings or appointments.
Selfishly, I use this layout and wanted to create this one first so I could start using these classic size Happy Planner refill pages when my planner runs out here in a few months.
The next design dilemma was creating some way to date these pages without creating a whole years worth of pre-dated pages. If I dated each page then it would all need to be redated in another year. I’m sorry but ain’t nobody got time for that…!
I also REALLY wanted to create undated planner pages that would allow you to start a planner at ANY time of the year. January, July or September…it wouldn’t matter when you came across our printable Happy Planner pages…they’d be ready to start at ANY day or time of the year.
I sat down to think about this quite a bit and I think I came up with an elegant solution that meets all of these requirements.
First, we created pre-sized, undated classic Happy Planner pages (Monday start). You can check them out below. The colors match our HUGE selection of free printable planner inserts perfectly…like:
FREE printable health & fitness planner inserts
FREE printable cleaning inserts
We also created a printable sticker sheet that will allow you to affix whatever month and date you desire to these printable planner pages.
Here is what those printable stickers look like when applied to our FREE printable Happy Planner refill pages:
I printed these date & month stickers on clear printable sticker paper so they wouldn’t possibly interfere with lines or other stickers but you could also use white printable sticker paper.
I’m sure you have some questions about how to make your own planner pages at home so let’s try to answer those for you…
What kind of paper is used in the Happy Planner?
Happy Planner uses 32 lb weight bright white paper like this option from Hewlitt Packard (HP). There has been some speculation that they’ve gone down to 28 lb here recently but that seems to be a cost savings measure at the expense of quality.
If you move your pages around quite a bit and don’t like bleed through from pens, highlighters and markers then you should definitely splurge for the 32 lb weight Hewlitt Packard (HP) paper. 28 lb paper is thinner, tears more easily in the punched hole area when removed and can bleed through/ leave pen marks from writing on earlier pages in your planner.
What are the dimensions of the Happy Planner classic pages?
Happy Planner classic size planner pages measure 7 inches by 9 1/4 inches.
The free printable Happy Planner refill pages we are sharing with you today are already pre-sized with cutting guidelines and they should fit your classic size Happy planner perfectly. Weird things can happen from one printer to another so as a sanity check you may want to take an old Happy Planner page and make a comparison with our cutting guide marks and make sure everything looks about right.
How do I cut out these Happy Planner pages & stickers?
You can can use a straight line paper cutter, scissors or a cutting machine if you purchase the optional transparent PNG cut files from our shop.
Will these Happy Planner refill pages work with my Happy Planner brand stickers?
Our vertical layout Happy Planner refill pages are 100% compatible with any Happy Planner brand stickers. All dimensions are exactly the same as the Happy Planner vertical layouts from the manufacturer.
Below you’ll find two links to download our printable Happy Planner daily refill pages. We provide a FREE PDF of our sticker sheet and a FREE JPEG our our pre-sized, undated, vertical classic sized Happy Planner, daily refill pages.

Hi Jennifer! Thanks for stopping by! We’re delighted to hear that you’re enjoying our free printable classic happy planner refills!
Hi Lisa. Thank you so much for your free printables! I wonder if you have any that start on Sunday? The weekly pages starting on Monday works for me, but the actual calendar confuses me if I stray from our other calendars in the house.
Even without that, though, I am finding many useful and well-designed printables. I’m very grateful.
Love these and all the printables you all share! My favorite layout is the horizontal, any of those coming our way?
