It’s almost back to school time! I’ve been making regular tips to Target over the past week to check in on the roll out of school supplies. AND….I don’t actually have any kids. I’m just TOTALLY ADDICTED to cool school/office supplies. I was talking to some other fine ladies in the area and I don’t think I’m alone!
First off, Target is stocking several teacher and student edition Happy Planners with Rainbow & Gold METAL rings! At the time of this writing I couldn’t find any teacher planners online but I assure you that they exist in store.
There is SO much cute stuff in the school supplies section….and I always try and get in there early before the rush starts so I can grab all that glitters, sparkles and shines before it sells out. AND this year there is A LOT to choose from. All of the folders, binders, pencils and spiral notebooks photographed in this article were found here.
All that said….back to school was on my mind this week and it’s the inspiration for this weeks free printable!
These back to school stickers are great for 1-12th graders and mom’s alike! They’re super cute, functional stickers to start nailing down the major milestones of the school year.
I love this loopy, feminine script font which I haven’t used before. I’ve been inspired by hand lettering and caligraphy after ordering this super cheap, totally awesome beginners hand lettering book. I’ve been practicing like crazy! But until I perfect it….I’m loving this font!
I also included stickers to remind you about brainstorming, writing, reading and math homework. There are also reminders for tests, study time and to-do lists.
These stylized back to school themed stickers will rock any Happy Planner layout and I think they’re totally functional! I printed them out and took some photos for your guys! Check out how cute these back to school stickers turned out!
Note! Variation in color occurs from one printer to another. Your print outs may look slightly different then mine!
I put these free PDF printable sticker sheets together for use on my Happy Planner and I thought there might be some other planner addicts who would enjoy them! After asking my planning tribe on Facebook I knew I had to share these with the world!
Oh…so you say you haven’t heard of the Happy Planner? Well, that’s okay….I’m new to it as well but I’m a lifelong planner addict! The best way I can think of to describe it is….well….let’s say that a planner, a sticker book and a scrapbook had a secret love child….THAT love child would be a Happy Planner! Let me give you a little introduction…
As a country girl (and also a graphic designer) I love functional, beautiful design. Especially when it comes to planners and things I use everyday. I love the beautiful page designs, monthly dividers and notes pages. I love the positive message of all the Happy Planner sticker books you can add to better organize your week or month.
You can easily customize your planner with colorful expander rings, budget planning packs, wellness planning packs, fitness planning packs and interchangeable covers! The colors are amazing! To say the least I’m in love! Check out the guts of these beautiful planners!
Maybe check it out yourself at the Happy Planner Storefront! It’s not just a planner…it’s a positive thinking, goal focused movement! I’m not kidding about this! There are huge online communities on Facebook and Instagram built around the love of this product! If you don’t believe me just check out all the glowing happy planner reviews here!
Okay, now I’m going to show you how to print these stickers out at home. You will need to purchase printable sticker paper if you don’t already have some on hand.
Fiskars Fingertip Craft Knife or Scissors
Being the free printable junkie that I am I have tested several sticker papers that I can wholly recommend for these stickers. Let me tell you, I’ve tested a lot of cheap, crappy sticker paper in my time and I’ve found only three that deserve my trust.
There are several cheapy brands out there but the problems with them are numerous. I’ve experienced massive paper jams, papers labeled as “clear” but they are actually not, smudged ink that never seems to dry and sticker paper that doesn’t even stick!!! What tha’ heck! Hey sticker paper….you had one job to do (be a sticker) and you couldn’t even do that!!?!?
Let me save you the hassle and point you to three different types of great paper. One is the Silhouette Clear Printable Sticker Paper which actully is CLEAR. Not kinda clear….but actually clear. This paper is great for printing out stickers for layering purposes. As an example, maybe you want to put a hat and a scarf on an existing dog sticker…this would be a good application of clear sticker paper.
Another tested and trusted paper is the Avery White Matte Printable Sticker Paper if you want a MATTE sticker. If you want a glossy, the Royal Elements Glossy Printable Sticker Paper is the way to go and it’s my personal favorite. f you’re a part of the Happy Planner movement you are probably accustomed to using both clear and white stickers in the sticker books. I think either are great and it’s the application that will probably decide which you want to use.

It’s important to note that these PDF stickers need to be printed out on an inkjet printer! DO NOT USE A LASER JET PRINTER! Laser jet printers use high heat and may melt the clear printable sticker paper (which are made mostly of plastic). Although the white printable sticker paper is not made of as much plastic it may also melt! Most at home printers are ink jet so this probably won’t be a problem…but double check to make sure!
You’ll also need to adjust the paper settings on you printer before printing. After pressing the print button go to the setting area. Look at the paper options and choose something along the lines of “matte photo paper” or “other photo paper”. There isn’t a sticker or label printing setting on my computer but if that’s available then choose that (I don’t have that on my software).
You’ll need to pick a thicker paper setting so that your printer accounts for this thick paper. It will also be sent a message that it’s printing something high quality and will print the stickers as such.
Obviously you can use plain old scissors to cut out any of these stickers. BUT if you’re OCD like me and want nice, straight lines I highly recommend that you use a straight line paper cutter. They are pretty inexpensive and they really make the difference when cutting the washi tape strips and rectangle shaped day stickers. This really inexpensive Fiskars model is highly rated on Amazon.
I have an older than dinosaurs (and ways about as much as a dinosaur) office sized paper cutter that I use. I found it, unluckily some would say, at Goodwill in the office supply section.
I’ve just recently purchased a Fiskars Fingertip Craft Knife which is way easier to manipulate than traditional x-acto knives. It’s easier to achieve rounded, artistic cutting lines for some of the non-square or non-symmetrical stickers. Here is what they look like in use:
One other option is to use the “classic” style box punch for the rectangular stickers. You can also use the box punch for pictures or cutting out scrapbook paper…so if you decide to invest in one there are some pretty cool applications for them beyond cutting out printable stickers.
First, let me say that I use a ton of ink for my business and for crafting (I’m looking at you Cricut print and cut projects). I used to be very cautious of what I print because of the CRAZY expensive cost of printer ink.
That was until I found a company on Amazon that will provide triple the ink for less than half the cost of original manufacturer’s ink. That’s like getting a ton of FREE INK! The company is called EZ Ink on Amazon and if you want to see if they carry your brand click here to search for your printer cartridges at the top of the page.
I was skeptical at first (even after reading TONS of these 4 & 5 star reviews (which you can read for yourself here) but I’ve been using the ink for a year now and there is no difference in print quality or color.
I’m not a representative of this company by any means…I’m just trying to help a fellow crafting/printable addict save a little money. I only talk about products that I use and believe in. If they can save some serious bucks it’s even better. So check them out HERE and see if they can save you some money!
