Do you LOVE vintage or antique farmhouse kitchen appliances? Girl…same. Unfortunately, most of the antique and vintage kitchen appliances I come across at tag/antique sales are not serviceable for today’s kitchens. Most of these vintage appliances do not meet today’s safety standards for wiring or gas delivery.
No need to worry thought because there is a huge selection of new kitchen appliances that are purposely made to look old. So if you’re in the process of outfitting your farmhouse kitchen with new appliances & decor….we have a quite a few suggestions for you!
I was talking with some folks in my Farmhouse Lovers Facebook Group (which is FREE for anyone to join for ideas and inspiration) and the discussion of what happens when farmhouse white or farmhouse style has run it’s course.
I have to say that I don’t think farmhouse will ever go out of style (since it’s partly a frame of mind)…it just evolves. 10-20 years ago, what we would call farmhouse style was sometimes called “country style”, “primitive” or “cottage”.
I’m seeing farmhouse style evolve now, right before my eyes! I wanted to curate a collection of items to try and describe the change I see coming design wise for farmhouse. I see the traditional ‘farmhouse white’ adding buttercream to the pallet. I also see lots of brass coming in to help accent the current ‘lamp black’. I also see small pops of dark green (think house plants and or botanical prints).
Antique & vintage is still all the rage in the farmhouse world and I don’t see that ending anytime soon. I’m just seeing more brass/gold moving in. Keep your eyes peeled when you head to antique stores or sales!
Okay, all that said I think you’ll get my drift when you see this curated collection of vintage/antique looking, farmhouse kitchen appliances & decor.
