How to Make Grinch Chocolate Covered Pretzels Step by Step
Step 1: Preheat Oven to 250 Degrees Place Pretzels on Baking Sheet
Spread out all of your pretzels onto a Non Stick Baking Sheet in a single layer. The amount needed will depend on how large your package of Vibrant Green Candy Melts and Large Candy Heart Sprinkles is. Take a moment to do a count and see how many pretzels based on what you have on hand.
Step 2: Place Candy melts on Top of the Mini Pretzels
Place one Vibrant Green Candy Melt on top of each pretzel. Make it as centered as possible.
Step 3: Place Heart Candy Sprinkle on Top & Put in the Oven
Place one Large Candy Heart Sprinkle on top of each pretzel. Make it as centered as possible. Place in the oven at 250 degrees for 3-5 minutes. The candy melts melt quickly, so watch them the entire time!
You want the candy melts slightly melted but not completely melted. The candy melt should stick to the pretzel and the heart should stick to the candy melt… but you don’t want to completely melt the candy piece.
Transfer to a Cooling Rack when they come out of the oven so the heat is off of them completely and the melting process stops. Allow the chocolate to set before mixing with popcorn, chex mix or puppy chow.
If you are worried about potentially overheating and totally melting the candy melts, there is a work around. Simply melt a handful of candy melts in the microwave in 30 second increments until fully melted. Use this melted candy as “glue” to attach a candy melt and the heart to the mini pretzel.
This work around skips the oven entirely for a no bake, quick Christmas treat!
