How to Make a Bat Wall
STEP ONE- Print and Cut Out Your Cardstock Bats
You will need at least 2 dozen bats to start. Depending on the size of your decorative space and what you want to do with it…you may need more. You can use our FREE bat wall printable with your Cricut Cutting Machine (we include cut files) to cut out all of your bats OR you can use our FREE bat PDF template download to cut them by hand.
If you don’t like black bats, and want to use different colors for your bats…you can simply use our bats as a stencil. Just cut out one bat in each size. Place the bat template on the colored cardstock of your choice and outline with a pencil. Cut out with scissors.
If you are using a Cricut Cutting Machine you can use our cut files along with any color of cardstock to cut out your bats too. It’s a simple cut operation in design space, NOT a print and cut. If you use print and cut then your bats will be black like ours.
STEP TWO- Fold & Score Your Bats Origami Style
Using We R Memory Keepers Trim and Score Board and the included scoring tool you can score the bat & wings in several places to create a 3 dimensional look. Below is an illustration of the areas we recommend that you score with the scoring tool.
STEP THREE- Apply Glue Dots to The Bats and Stick to the Wall
Apply 2 Removable Glue Dots to the back of each bat (Removable Glue Dots are easy to take down after Halloween and won’t damage your walls). Place the glue dots on the body of the bat (one near the head and one near the tail). Arrange the flying bats at an angle so it looks like they’re flying across the room.
