Who is Frida Kahlo?

As a teenager, she suffered in a severe bus accident. She suffered from multiple fractures that left her bedridden for months and caused lifelong health complications to her spine. During her recovery period, Kahlo began to paint and use art as an outlet to cope with her pain and express her feelings.
Kahlo’s artistic style was heavily influenced by her Mexican heritage and the country’s folk art traditions. Her paintings often featured bold colors, intricate patterns, and striking imagery that drew from Mexico’s rich culture and history.
