Hey there printable friends! I’m back with more beautiful FREE printables to decorate your space with! I really love how these monogram letters turned out. I think you find that there are a TON of uses for them throughout the holiday season….here are just a few:
Make a holiday banner using twine and miniature clothes pins
Add instant Christmas decor to a bathroom or nursery with a framed Christmas letter
Print out a monogram to use as a binder or planner cover (see my planner cover tutorial HERE)
Make personalized monogram gifts (make-up bags, totes) using iron on transfer sheets
Create easy monogrammed cards, Christmas stockings, and present gift tags
Add a framed monogram to your existing gallery wall
Print out short, inspiring holiday words like Noel or Joy to frame and decorate an entire wall space
I even made two different font versions so you have you choice of a classic, traditional look or a more modern one. First I’m going to show you my favorite which is the more classic/traditional look:
I did a few mock-ups of how you could use these monograms to make personalized monogram DIY Christmas gifts. I used these make-up bags which you can buy in bulk pretty cheap on Amazon. You would simply re-size and print the monograms on iron on transfer sheets. Then iron on the monogram to the make up bag.
In the next few photos I’ve mocked up what you can do with a short holiday phrase and a few inexpensive rustic frames from Amazon. I used Noel in this example but you might try things like joy, peace, gather or love.
Words with even numbered letters look best arranged in a square or rectangle. Check out how I re-arranged Noel to create a totally different look below:
Ponder using words from other languages to form short holiday themed words. As an example Pax means peace or kiss of peace in latin (per Merriam Webster Dictionary) and is often referred to in the Christian church. Joyeux means Joy in French (which is on the longer side) but looks so pretty! I’m an unapologetic Francophile so I love to see anything written in French. It reminds me of being in France whenever I see it.
Okay here are a few mock-ups of the more modern, clean version of our FREE Christmas wall art printables. In this example I used love to form a stand alone gallery wall like I did above with noel. Notice that this version has clean lines and will work beautifully in more modern spaces.
These are instantly downloadable PDFs (sized for 8 X 10 frames) that you can print at home with a normal printer. I’m often asked what kind of printer I have and I like to gush about my Canon Pixma whenever I can. I’ve had this printer since 2010 and it’s been a no fail work horse for me. I do a ton of printing for my business so it’s a testament to its longevity.
I can also get SUPER cheap ink through EZ ink on Amazon for this particular printer which saves me a ton of cash on ink (I got through a lot)! Okay, let’s get started on this super easy DIY Christmas decorating project.
[FREE Christmas Wall Art Supplies]
Laser Level (for Frame Mounting)
I highly recommend that you print these monograms on heavy card stock (110 lbs or heavier). Printing on plain white pieces of paper have a tendency to wrinkle over time due to the moisture/humidity in the air. Printing on cardstock eliminates this problem….you’ll only have to print this once to stand the test of time.
These free Christmas wall art pieces are sized to fit inside an 8 x 10 mat. If you like how the monograms look in the rustic frames in the mock up then you should check out these really inexpensive rustic 8 x 10 frames.
After you’ve printed off the letters you want you’ll want to disassemble your frames so you can put your letters inside the frame. Simply center your cardstock print inside the 8 x 10 mat and use some scotch tape to hold it on to the mat while you reassemble the frame.
Use a laser level to quickly and easily mount all your frames to the wall. If you don’t have a laser level at home already I have this inexpensive little tool that makes quick work of assembling gallery walls and picture hanging.
