What exactly is digital paper?

Crafted using a graphic design software, digital paper employs vivid background hues and recurring pattern illustrations. It typically comes in dimensions of 12 x 12 inches (suitable for conventional scrapbooking) when you buy it in the big box crafting store. Ours is 8.5 x 11 inches, perfect for home printing projects. digital paper can be delivered in high-resolution JPG, PNG or PDF file formats.

What are some ways I can use digital paper?

Digital paper lends an aesthetic touch to a host of digital and traditional paper crafting projects. Here are some examples:

• Preserving memories in a scrapbook
• Digital scrapbooking
• Creating digital or paper-based greeting cards
• Note paper or note cards
• Cash envelopes
• Gift tags (This tool makes gift tag making EASY)
• Gift boxes (Check out this box making punch board)
• Gift wrapping paper
• Party decorations
• Origami paper
• Wall art & Photo Collages
• Backdrop wallpaper for your phone, tablet, or computer
• Decorative elements for digital or paper planner decorating
• Website design

What Should I Print These Digital Papers on?

The best type of paper to use for printing digital paper greatly depends on its ultimate application, but in most cases, you’ll want to opt for paper that’s thicker than your everyday printer paper. For most crafting needs, starting with medium to heavy cardstock (around 110 lb) is a good choice. This is because digital paper usually demands a significant amount of ink, especially if the background color isn’t white. An excessive ink load could lead regular paper to buckle or warp, which can impact the aesthetics of the final product.

Is a Special Printer or Particular Print Settings?

You don’t need a specialized printer, however, modifying your print settings to “high quality” is beneficial. This adjustment ensures the paper is fed slowly through the printer, thereby preventing lines and gaps during printing and ensuring a superior quality print. If you are using glossy cardstock or sticker paper, consider selecting “glossy photo paper” as your paper type, along with choosing “high quality”.

If home printing isn’t an option, consider sending your files to printing places like Kinko’s or big box office supply stores which offer custom printing.
