How to Make FREE Recipe Cards Step by Step
Below is a short video on how to make our FREE Recipe Card Templates, labels & dividers step by step (written directions and graphics download are at the bottom of the page). I love how it turned out! Who says kitchen recipe organization has to be blah & boring! We also have a link for how to use the Munbyn Bluetooth Label Printer step by step- it’s so easy when you see it live!
STEP ONE- Print and Trim Recipe Cards to Size
Grab our FREE printable recipe cards download and print them out onto heavy with your inkjet printer. Using a straight line paper cutter (or Scissors) trim away all the excess cardstock. The paper cutter works really well for getting these cute recipe cards down to size and uniform in size.
STEP TWO- Print and Trim Dividers to Size
Next download our FREE printable recipe box category dividers and print them out onto heavy cardstock with your inkjet printer. Using a straight line paper cutter (or Scissors) trim away all the excess cardstock just like you did with the recipe cards. There are 6 different recipe categories so you’ll need 6 dividers. We provide you with 3 different dividers…just print those out twice and you’ll have what you need.
STEP THREE- Print Out Recipe Category Labels
Load the 2″ x 2″ Munbyn PINK Thermal Labels into your Munbyn Bluetooth Label Printer. Open ANY of our 6 FREE recipe category files (they are transparent PNGs- they might look dark when you open them because they don’t have a white background).
Hit the print button to open the print dialogue box. Make sure you’ve selected the Munbyn Thermal printer from the drop down menu (especially if this is your first print). Mine shows as ITPP130 which is close to the model number. Select the 2 x 2 round labels & the number of copies (I’d start with one copy and see if you like it). If you want a detailed tutorial on how to load and print you can check out the video below. The Munbyn Help Center is helpful if you have any issues.
STEP FOUR- Fold & Cut Labels
Take each printed label and fold it in half. Use the fold line as a guide and cut the label in half with a pair of scissors. This should give you the half circle label needed to fit our free printable recipe category dividers. There are 6 categories- main dishes, side dishes, appetizers, desserts, beverages and holidays. You can use them all or just the ones you think you’ll need.
STEP FIVE- Add FREE Printable Labels to Dividers
With each printed label you should do a quick check and make sure that the label fits inside the circle. Sometimes if you cut the category divider a tad too small the label won’t fit right so you may needs to do a little trimming.
STEP SIX- Organize Your Recipe Box
Place all your organized recipes into the Clear Acrylic Recipe Box so you can show’em off! They’re too cute to keep hidden away! Be sure to add new recipes promptly to your recipe box. Don’t let them stack up in your junk drawers and recipe books!
