DIY FREE Cricut Christmas Gift Tags Supplies
You can use heavy Cardstock OR sticker paper to make these gift tags. With sticker paper you can stick them directly to your gift with no string or ribbon. You can also use mini clothespins to attach the gift tags to a piece of decorative ribbon that is wrapped around your gift.
Heavy Cardstock (we used 80 lb)
1/4 Inch satin ribbon, bakers twine or mini clothespins
Trim and Score Board (if you’re not using a Cricut)
Circle Punch (if you’re not using a Cricut)

What do I print these FREE Cricut Christmas gift tags on?
There are two options. The first is to print our free gift tags on to sticker paper. I like to use glossy sticker paper because it prints true to color and I after I cut them out I can just stick them right on to my holiday gifts without string or ribbon. You can also use matte sticker paper which is more economical.
You can also print them out onto heavy card stock. I recommend Heavy Cardstock (we used 80 lb) so that your tags won’t get ripped or wrinkle in the humidity. I do not recommend printing on plain printer paper.
How do I cut out these Christmas tags svg on a Cricut?
The first option (and probably the easiest) is to use a Cricut Cutting Machine to cut out the gift tags. We provide you with a transparent PNG file (works the same as an SVG for this purpose) which can be used in Cricut design space. Making Cricut gift tags is easy…it’s a simple print and cut operation.
If you want to use your Cricut cutting machine you’ll need to upload our transparent PNG file into Cricut design space, create a “print then cut” file and then add it to the canvas. Resize the image to 6.82 x 9.18 (the maximum size allowed) and then send it to your printer. Feed it into your machine and and hit “go”.
Layer the gift tags to give your wrapped gifts that extra special touch! You can use a single hole punch to punch a hole in each Christmas gift tag. Loop them through ribbon, bakers twine or sisal twine. You can also leave them as is and use a mini clothespin to hold them together like we did in our mockup!
If you want to cut these out the old fashioned way using scissors, a straight line cutter or a circle punch might be a good option. We provide PDFs that you can download and print the old fashioned way with your desktop printer.
You can use a single hole punch to punch a centered hole in each tag. There are tons of fun shapes to choose from for single hole punches these days (like this star shaped single hole punch).
