Honestly WTF has a fantastic tutorial for using tissue paper to tie dye a dress. Yes, you read that right! Dyeing fabric with tissue paper is a great way to get beautiful pastel colors on natural and synthetic fabrics.
The caveat, however, is that you MUST use spectra tissue paper, also known as bleeding tissue paper, in order for it to work. So far I have not found spectra tissue paper in any of the major craft stores but you can find bleeding spectra tissue paper inexpensively HERE
