What makes this Rodolph Christmas tree ornament so cute is the BIG, sparkly red nose! This EASY Cricut Christmas project uses up small scraps you may have laying around and turns it into something really cute!
This reindeer face svg tutorial will show you how to make a Rudolph ornament step by step with plenty of photos. A few simple touches make this DIY Christmas ornament look professionally made!

Do I need a Cricut Machine?
Technically this is a Cricut Christmas ornament but if you don’t have a Cricut there is a way you can still make this Reindeer ornament (if you have a little patience). Here’s how you can do it…
Simply take our FREE reindeer face svg and print in color onto a single sheet of clear sticker paper. From there you would cut out each facial feature and affix it to the ornament individually.
Affixing the entire face decal all at once does not work well…it won’t conform to the rounded shape of the ornament without creasing and bubbling up in weird ways. You need to work with smaller pieces and press down each piece individually.
You may need to make some relief cuts to help it all lay down. Remove as much excess sticker paper as possible with scissors. All the other steps would be the same from there.

DIY EASY Reindeer Ornaments
This cute and super easy reindeer Christmas ornament comes together quickly with scraps and left over vinyl. If you’re making a lot of these for DIY Christmas gifts you can arrange multiple reindeer faces, noses and eyes in Cricut design space and cut everything in 3 passes. Other than the Grinch Cricut Ornament, this is one of the EASIEST Cricut Christmas crafts I’ve made!

How to Make DIY Reindeer Ornaments

STEP 1: Fill Ornaments with Brown Paint & Allow to Dry
Fill your Clear Disc Shaped Ornaments with brown acrylic paint (we used Nutmeg Brown from Apple Barrel). Swirl the paint around the inside of the ornaments until fully coated. Turn the ornament upside down in a disposable cup and allow the excess paint to drain out. Leave the ornament in the cup overnight to fully dry before handling.

STEP 2: Upload Rudolph Face SVG and Cut Black Adhesive Vinyl
Download our FREE Rudolph SVG from our FREE library. The link to our FREE library is located at the end of the tutorial.
Gather up all of your supplies and warm up your Cricut Cutting Machine! Upload the Reindeer face to design space. Remove the background if needed. Add the file to a new project and size the face to fit your ornament (take good measurements before cutting!).

STEP 3: Weed The Black vinyl
Make your cut Cut in Black Permanent Adhesive Vinyl. Weed away the unwanted Black Permanent Adhesive Vinyl areas away from Rudolph’s face. You should be left with just the mouth, nose, eyes and a whisp of hair on the vinyl adhesive backing.

STEP 4: Cut Red & White Vinyl, Transfer to Black Vinyl
Repeat the process with Red Glitter Permanent Adhesive Vinyl to create the red nose and White Permanent Adhesive Vinyl to create the white eyes.
Cut a piece of Transfer Tape to move the white eyes and the red nose over to the black vinyl face you cut earlier. This is the time to make any fine adjustments on placement. Then pick up the entire face with the transfer tape. At this point you should have the entire face (with all layers) onto a piece of transfer tape ready to go onto the ornament.

STEP 5: Transfer Reindeer Face to the Bulb
Place the Transfer Tape with the Rudolph face onto the ornament and gently run the Cricut Scraping Tool back and forth over the Rudolph face so it will stick to the ornament. Peel the transfer tape away slowly from the ornament leaving the face behind.
Make any small adjustments with a Cricut Weeding Tool.
Hang your Grinch ornament on the Christmas tree and enjoy! Don’t forget to download our FREE SVG reindeer from the library before you go today. The link to our FREE library is at the bottom of this page.
