How to Make Candy Corn Fudge Step by Step!

1. Make the Cake

Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside for later. Prepare and bake the cake according to the package instructions. Let the cake cool completely in the pan (about 50 minutes). Break apart and crumble the cake into a large mixing bowl. Add the entire can of frosting and mix with the cake crumble until the mixture is fully combined, using your hands if needed.

2. Assemble the Snowman

Scoop 2 to 3 tablespoons of the cake mixture into your hands and roll it into a ball. Set it on the parchment lined baking sheet. This will be the bottom half of the snowman. Scoop another tablespoon of the mixture into your hand and roll it into a second ball for the top half of the snowman. Repeat with the remaining mixture—you should have 8 to 10 larger balls and 8 to 10 smaller balls.

Add a few tablespoons of white chocolate chips to a microwave-safe bowl. Place in a microwave, heating in 30-second intervals until the chocolate is fully melted.

Slide a smaller cake ball onto one of the popsicle sticks. Then, dip the larger cake ball into the melted chocolate before sliding it onto the popsicle stick underneath the smaller ball. This helps to glue the halves together. Gently press the bottom of the snowman onto the prepared baking sheet so it can stand on its own. Repeat with remaining snowmen and pace in the freezer for 30 minutes to harden.

3. Coat the Snowman in White Chocolate

Melt the remaining white chocolate chips in a microwave-safe cup. Using a cup makes it easier to dip the entire snowman in the white chocolate and get a complete white chocolate coat.

Remove one snowman at a time from the freezer and dip it in the white chocolate. Place each dipped snowman on the prepared baking sheet.

4. Add the Arms

Before the white chocolate hardens, press two, 1 inch pretzel sticks into the sides of each snowman to create arms. Let the snowman sit for 20 minutes to allow the chocolate to harden before moving to the decorating step. Again, you’ll want to dip one snowman at a time. You may have to remelt the chocolate in the microwave again if it gets too stiff.

5. Make a Snowman Face & Body

Using the black cookie decorating icing, draw two small dots for the eyes and a curved line of small dots for the mouth. Using the orange cookie decorating icing, draw a carrot shaped line between the eyes and mouth to create the carrot nose. On the bottom half of the snowman, use the black decorating icing to draw three dots for buttons. Pipe some black cookie icing onto a mini Oreo and stick it on the head of the snowman to create a cute hat.

6. Serve & Enjoy

Place your completed snowmen on a decorative tray, serve and enjoy! You can also place these cute little guys into clear cello bags and tie with a bow for DIY Christmas food gifts! Store any leftover snowman cake pops in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.

Recipe Options & Alternatives

  • If you want different colors for the chocolate coating, look for Wilton candy melts which come in nearly every color of the rainbow and have a nice vanilla flavor.
  • Once you have the basics of making cake pops down you can create lots of Christmas characters like a reindeer, Santa or even the Grinch. You can get creative with the decorating process by changing out cake flavors, frosting, chocolate coating…you name it!
