What is so special about washi tape?
Washi tape is a highly decorative, thin and flexible masking tape. It originated in Japan and is usually made of natural fibers like hemp and bamboo. It comes in thousands of colors and patterns for almost every possible use. Washi tape is most often used in paper crafting but will easily to stick on many surfaces such as wood, plastic, glass, metal & even walls. The best feature is that it is easily removed without causing damage to the surface. So if you don’t get your washi tape placement right the first time there is no need to fret.

How do you make washi tape?
It’s easy to make your own washi tape at home (instantly) with our FREE printable washi tape downloads! You will need a printer and printable sticker paper. We recommend the following printable sticker papers:
TPH Matte Printable Sticker Paper -this is the most economical option but is only best for low touch, single use applications like planner washi tape & paper crafting applications.
TPH Glossy Printable Sticker Paper -for professional looking, bright, colorful, glossy washi tape that looks store bought. Matte papers absorb ink like a sponge but glossy paper doesn’t do that so your printable washi tape will look very much like it does on your computer screen.
TPH Glossy Clear Printable Sticker Paper – when only clear sticker paper will do (like the washi tape keyboard project we talked about earlier). This clear sticker is thick & survives well in high touch applications. Because of the glossy you’ll also get washi tape that looks like it was professionally made.
TPH Glossy Waterproof Vinyl Printable Sticker Paper – This vinyl sticker paper is THICK and waterproof. It’s great for high touch applications where there is a chance of moisture coming into contact with the washi tape.
I want to quickly note here that the above sticker paper is generally not repositionable like store bought washi tapes. It is repositionable on certain surfaces that don’t involve paper for instance (like metal or glass).
